Job Title: Consultant Children, Young People and Family Therapist 

Due to an expansion of our therapeutic services, we are looking to appoint a therapist to add to our team of qualified and experienced counsellors and consultant therapists.  You must have a passion for working with children, young people and families and preferably have experience of working within a school environment. This post will initially be for ONE day a week and will be on a Self-Employed basis.   

Successful applicants must be qualified to a minimum Level 5 counselling or therapeutic play qualification and have had a minimum of 200 face to face client hours, be highly motivated, enthusiastic and organised. Applicants must be a member of a professional body, e.g. BACP and will be either accredited or working towards accreditation.  A commitment to safeguarding, strength based practice and equality are essential. Applicants will demonstrate the ability to engage with children, young people and families and school staff as well as have a good understanding of Children’s Attachment Issues and how this can impact upon their emotional wellbeing.  You must be able to use a range of evidence based theoretical interventions in order to make a difference.

This post will be in the North Yorkshire area of Knaresborough. Successful applicants will be required to attend an interview, undertake an enhanced DBS check and provide a minimum of two satisfactory references.
